The Italian embassy in Malta celebrated Italy’s National Day on June 2. Attending the event was President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, Arcbishop Charles Scicluna, Government and Opposition MPs, members of the diplomatic corps and Italian Senator Laura Bianconi.

Italian Ambassador Giovanni Umberto De Vito highlighted the close ties that exist between Italy and Malta and the intense and fruitful collaboration between both governments especially in the areas of migration and energy.

A dancing water and light display to the music of famous Italian opera ‘Arias’ in Marsamxett Harbour, Valletta was the highlight of the evening. The spectacular display was performed by the tugboats of Tug Malta – forming part of the Italian Rimorchiatori Riuniti Group.
