Tug Malta was recently engaged by Cement Shipping Cooperation of Hamburg to tow a cement barge which was in ballast condition at Misurata, Libya. Tug Malta’s motor tug SPINOLA departed Malta on Saturday 28th April and arrived at Misurata on the 29th April. Two days later the SPINOLA commenced her voyage, towing the cement barge ‘Seabulk Patience’ from Misurata Roads, Libya to Piraeus Roads, Greece.
SPINOLA was off-hire and back to her base in Valletta on Tuesday 8th May 2012.
The ‘SPINOLA’ is an anchor handling tug with a bollard pull of 81 tons and she is equipped with a double drum towing winch.
