With a fleet of 9 tugs we provide exceptional towage services within the harbours and territorial waters of the Maltese Islands, offshore towage, salvage and wreck removal operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality, Safety, and Environmental Management: Develop and maintain QSE systems, conduct audits, monitor and improve performance, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions for ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001.
  • Risk Management: Identify and control risks, develop mitigation strategies, conduct risk assessments, and investigate accidents.
  • Training and Development: Create and deliver training programs, ensure compliance, and monitor effectiveness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on regulations, ensure compliance, and liaise with authorities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with employees, management, and external stakeholders, build relationships, and promote HSEQ culture.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Document control, supplier assessments, emergency response planning, performance monitoring, budgeting, permit to work system, safety equipment maintenance, record-keeping, lead ESG, ensure fire and safety drills, ensure PPE compliance.

Ideal Candidate:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a marine-oriented industry, preferably with HSEQ experience.
  • STCW Officer or Engineer officer of the Watch Certificate.
  • Engineering degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Company Security Officer, Designated Person Ashore (DPA), ISO/ISM Auditor certificates.
  • Experience with ISO standards, EMS, and OH&SMS.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and people management skills.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written Maltese and English at an intermediate level.

The company is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Tugboat Engineer. The candidate will be expected to ensure that all machinery and equipment on board the Company’s tugs are maintained in good working order at all times and to operate the machinery during operations as and when required.

The role shall require a practical, hands-on and competent person who is assertive, and can work in a team.

Qualifications required

• STCW 95 Certificate of Competency as specified in Section A-III/2 of the STCW Code and should have preferably served on board tugs or offshore support vessels.

• Candidates in possession of the local Commercial Vessels Engineer competence certificate will be considered for this vacancy however holders of the required STCW certificate as detailed above will be given preference.

Tug Malta Ltd is looking for skilled Marine Fitters to join our dynamic team. If you have hands-on experience with diesel engine overhauls and marine equipment maintenance, we want to hear from you! 

As a Marine Fitter, you will be part of the Technical Department, whose mission is to efficiently and sustainably manage the maintenance, repair, and modifications of all tugs within our fleet and their respective equipment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Overhaul and maintain diesel engines and other marine systems. 
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on marine vessel equipment. 
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company procedures. 

Requirements: 

  • A solid technical background, ideally with both qualifications and practical experience. 
  • Proven experience in diesel engine overhauls, preferably in a marine environment. 
  • Strong knowledge of marine vessel maintenance processes. 
  • Experience with Caterpillar engines will be considered a valuable asset. 
  • Basic knowledge of troubleshooting electrical systems is highly desirable. 
  • Technicians with a wide variety of skills related to marine maintenance will also be considered an asset.

Tug Malta Ltd is seeking Paint Maintenance Personnel to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing painting, cleaning, and maintaining tug fendering systems, along with other ancillary tasks related to the upkeep of our vessels. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Carry out painting tasks on steel surfaces, ensuring proper surface preparation and application for long-lasting results. 
  • Clean and maintain the exterior of tugs and other marine vessels. 
  • Maintain the fendering systems on tugs to ensure they are in good condition. 
  • Perform other general maintenance tasks as needed to support tug operations. 
  • Conduct tank cleaning and paint repairs. 
  • Adhere to safe working practices at all times. 

Requirements: 

  • Prior experience in painting and maintaining steel vessels or similar marine environments. 
  • Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and paint application methods. 
  • Ability to work in a marine environment and onboard vessels. 
  • Experience with maintaining fendering systems will be considered an asset. 
  • Hard working with a proactive attitude and strong attention to detail. 
  • Previous experience working in enclosed spaces and at heights is desirable. 
  • Experience operating cranes and forklifts is not essential but will be considered an asset.
