Tug Malta Limited successfully completed the rig move of the self-elevating drilling unit ENSCO 105 on behalf of ENSCO plc, from Zarzis Roads, Tunisia to Valletta Grand Harbour, Malta; whereby the rig was loaded on board the HLV Transportation vessel FAIRSTAR FJORD for subsequent transportation to Singapore.
M.T. SPINOLA (BP 81 tons – built in May 2009) owned by Tug Malta, together with PACIFIC VICTORY towed the unit from Zarzis up to a few miles outside the Valletta Grand Harbour (at which point the PACIFIC VICTORY was released) until it was floated-over and positioned onto the FAIRSTAR FJORD transport deck in the Grand Harbour with the assistance of the harbour tugs LIENI and MARI, both tugs owned by Tug Malta Limited.
The M.T. SPINOLA left Malta to Zarzis on 26th April and commenced the rig move the following day arriving in Malta on 30th April 2011.
