Rimorchiatori Mediterranei SPA
Since 1922 Rimorchiatori has been operating tugboats in the waters of the commercial harbour of Genoa. From its headquarters the Group has progressively spread its fleet to other ports, both in Italy and abroad expanding the scope of its activity.
Today, Rimorchiatori Mediterranei Spa is a leading worldwide harbour towage operator. Having over 100 years of towage operations activities, the Company counts on more than 1,100 employees working in 9 countries, managing a specialised fleet of over 160 units.
Rimorchiatori Mediterranei became the largest Italian Operator and in the last ten years, the Group became a Global Operator acting from European Ports to South East Asia. In 2023 Rimorchiatori Mediterranei was acquired by MSC Group.
Thanks to MSC, Rimorchiatori Mediterranei renews its ambition to be the leading worldwide harbour towage operator offering to its customers a range of activities including Harbour Towage, Offshore services, Salvage and Special Operations.
The stewardship of the Group lies with a strong board of directors with diverse industry and professional background profiles. Two members of the Rimorchiatori Mediterranei Spa executive board namely Mr Matteo Coppari and Mr Giacomo Gavarone also sit on the board of Tug Malta Limited along with Dr George Abela – Chairman and fellow director Mr Mario Mizzi.
